Hello world

This feels awkward but I have to do it. Like pulling a bandage that's been sitting there way too long. You know you have to take it off, but it's so much easier to just ignore it. Plus taking it off is probably going to hurt a bit and pull out some hairs with it. Ah screw it, let's just get it over with…

I'm Emils, a full time corporate employee during the day, husband and father of 2 during the evenings and a wannabe entrepreneur chasing 10K per month MRR during the night.

Why 10K per month? Well that's a nice round number that a lot of other people are chasing, so I thought why not. Why chase it? Financial freedom, early retirement, etc.

This blog is meant to be a window into my progress, share success stories, failures, learnings and advertise the things I'm building (hey, I need to earn that 10K per month somehow!). So why a blog? 2 reasons mainly:

  1. I have tried posting things on social media but it always feels… off… somehow
  2. I have had script ideas for TikToks and YouTube for months now, but have been unable to find time to actually film them
  3. I have been able to develop (with help of AI) tools, apps & domains, which shows I have time to sit down and write

You might have noticed that was 3 reasons, not 2 - good, just wanted to check if you are still here.

Here is the situation as it is:

  • I started app development as my main hobby roughly 10 months ago
  • I currently have 2 apps under my belt and combined the apps have had 344 downloads, out of which I have earned a total of $2 (but I still haven't seen that money hit my bank account because I think Apple has a minimum threshold where it starts doing payouts)
  • I have spent almost 2 thousand dollars on this venture so far - Apple dev license + Mac mini + multiple months of AI / other tool subscriptions + plenty of Apple Ads campaigns

Seeing all this the average response would probably be along the lines of "Bro, you need to stop and cut your losses!" however I'm not your bro and I don't plan on stopping. Just this week I did another update on the first app, launched 3 more Apple Ads campaigns for the 2nd app, and now started working on a 3rd app where I see some potential (I noticed some interesting things in the 2nd app's keywords, Apple Ads campaign performance and in competitor app comments).

Hopefully this gives a good idea of what to expect here. I can't promise consistency or even cohesive sentences. What I can promise is good old-fashioned facts, data, monologues & reflections. Stick around, and you probably will learn something.
