Scooch privacy policy

Data storage

Scooch stores your plans, custom furniture and settings on your device. There is no account and no login, and I run no server that holds your plans. Your data stays on your device, apart from the optional iCloud backup and the anonymous analytics described below.

iCloud backup

So your plans survive a reinstall or a move to a new iPhone, Scooch can back them up to your own private iCloud. Backup is on by default when you are signed in to iCloud, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings. The backup is held by Apple under your Apple Account and covered by Apple's privacy terms. It is not sent to me and I cannot see it. This is a restore point, not live cross-device sync.

Anonymous usage analytics

Scooch uses PostHog (hosted in the EU) to collect anonymous usage statistics, so I can see which features get used and where people get stuck.

What is collected:

Counts of interactions: rooms added, furniture placed, plans exported, backups made
Which onboarding steps were viewed, and the fit check's final gap number
App-level context: how many plans, rooms and pieces exist, the active theme, metric or imperial
Generic device context (debug vs release build, app version)
If you submit the improvement survey, the text you typed

What is not collected:

Your name, email, or any personal identifiers
The contents of your plans: your rooms, labels and layouts stay on your device
Your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers
Anything linked back to you as an individual

Analytics can be turned off at any time in Settings, Help out, "Share anonymous usage" — the app respects it immediately.

Third-party sharing

I do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties. The only third-party service used is PostHog, for the anonymous analytics described above, stored on EU servers and never linked to you as an individual.

Your rights

Access & export: your plans are visible in the app at all times and exportable as PNG or PDF. No separate copy is held elsewhere.
Deletion: uninstalling the app removes all plan data from that device. If iCloud backup was on, remove the saved copy by managing Scooch's storage under iCloud in iOS Settings.
Opt out of analytics: the Settings toggle above.

Children's privacy

Scooch does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app requires no account and no personal information to function.

Changes

If a future version of Scooch changes any of the above, this page and the App Store privacy label will be updated before that version ships.
